Get cozy! We are going to talk about comfort. Not just the soft, fluffy kind, but comfort in all forms and its effect on your happiness, quality of life, and even your mental health.

We tend to think of comfort in terms of textiles as we do here at MOXY. Our leggings are surely comfortable and we are very conscious about making a product that you enjoy wearing. Wearing comfortable clothing increases your confidence and makes you more likely to take advantage of opportunities and step outside of your comfort zone.

But what about comfort in terms of space, environment, vibe, or security? Comfortable clothes are what we make, but comfort extends into many more areas of your life that we also care about.

Comfortable social situation

Comfort in your environment and social circles can also have a significant impact on your quality of life. When you feel comfortable in your physical environment and at ease with the people around you, the relaxing feeling can lead to better physical and mental health outcomes. You are less likely to experience social anxiety, exclusion, or conflict when comfort is the priority. This kind of comfort truly does contribute to a sense of security and stability, which can increase your overall sense of satisfaction with the quality of your life.

When we lack comfort in our lives, we may experience stress, anxiety, and isolation. We are less confident and tend to pull back when we are feeling uncertain of our status at any particular time, place, or event. Discomfort is so destructive to the good things life has to offer that we are usually both consciously and subconsciously trying to avoid it at all costs.

It’s no surprise that when we feel safe, supported, and confident that we are free to be our true and best selves. Here are some of the incredible effects that prioritizing comfort can have on your life:

Reduces stress: Comfort can help reduce stress levels in the body and mind, allowing you to feel more relaxed and at ease.

Increases happiness: Comfortable surroundings and situations can increase happiness and positive emotions.

Boosts self-esteem: When you feel comfortable and at ease, you are more likely to feel confident, have higher self-esteem, and be more social.

Enhances mental clarity: Being comfortable can help you think more clearly and make better decisions. You can be more efficient at work, a better problem solver, and more focused during conversations when you feel comfortable.

Improves sleep quality: Here’s the cozy part! Comfortable bedding, pillows, and other sleep aids can improve the quality of sleep, leading to better mental and physical health.

Comfort

Provides a sense of security: Comfort can provide a sense of security and safety, which can help reduce depression and anxiety and promote mental well-being.

Encourages self-care: Being comfortable can encourage you to prioritize self-care and take the time to relax and rejuvenate which we all know is totally awesome for your mental health.

Promotes creativity: When you feel comfortable and relaxed, you are more likely to think outside the box and be more creative.

Builds resilience: Life is tough, but comfort can provide a foundation of support that can help you better cope with challenges and build resilience over time.

Comfort is so much more than soft fabrics and warm blankets. It is your space and your habits, your wardrobe, the people you choose to spend time with, and so much more. Think about ways you can continue to prioritize comfort across many facets of your life to improve your physical and mental wellness.
